About Recruitment is Ireland's newest Actuarial, Risk and Data Analytics Recruitment Agency.
Our name and logo are inspired by the world of sailing, where to come "about" means to change direction, which not unlike a successful career move, requires good timing, careful handling, and a competent crew!
I have over 30 years' experience practising as an actuary, underwriter, data scientist and risk consultant in both Irish and international insurance markets. I have worked in life and general, domestic and reinsurance, the company market and consultancy. I have operated at all levels over my career, from student life actuary, to underwriting director, to head of the non-life arm of a large Irish Actuarial consultancy. I have also been very active in the Society of Actuaries, and among other things, had the honour of serving two terms on Council, as well as chair of the general insurance committee.
As a result, I have gained a unique insight into what both employers and actuarial, data analytics and risk professionals are seeking from each other. I also have very extensive and trusted contacts both in companies and in the actuarial, data analytics and risk communities.
